Hogar San José.

Hogar San Jose is a nonprofit childcare community that has been successfully operating in Cartago, Colombia for the past 50 years under the support of the Catholic Dioceses and the Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar (ICBF)

The childcare center educates and nurtures 300 children ranging from 18 months to 6 years old and serves extremely disadvantaged and low-income communities of the area.

The vast majority of the children attended by this center comes from disintegrated homes, where one or both parents are absent, in some cases incarcerated or victims of violence, and the family and home circumstances of these children are precarious and surrounded by hardship.

This center is open year round, mainly for the extreme needs of the community: children would not have daily meals at their homes if they did not attend to Hogar San José.
